Oriente DiTano, MD
Dr. DiTano grew up in the heart of Pittsburgh and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1989 with Sum Cum Laude honors in chemistry and Neurobehavioral Science. He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, graduating in 1993 with the Hewlett Packard Top Medical Graduate Award. Dr. DiTano then trained in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle WA, ranked among the best in the country. He then completed a one-year hand, micro vascular and upper extremity fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in 1999.
Dr. DiTano has conducted multiple laboratory and clinical studies in the field of upper extremity surgery. He has written scientific articles in journals and text books and has presented his research at the international level. His current interest include massive trauma reconstruction, nerve compression injuries and is pioneering a new endoscopic carpal tunnel release technique.
