"I enjoy the opportunity to work with athletes from various sports, helping them to speed their recovery and return to full function."

He's been appointed medical director for the Sports Medicine Program at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, and he serves as a preceptor for the Sports Medicine fellows at UPMC-Shadyside.

When not practicing medicine, he's cycling, running, hiking, playing tennis, skiing or weight training. Being an avid athlete himself, Dr. Rytel pays close attention to improving function in two of the most common problems facing athletes: shoulder instability and knee ligament injuries.
