Michael Miller, MD
Following his graduation from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Dr. Miller attended Wayne State University in Detroit. There he completed his medical degree and residencies in general and orthopaedic surgery.
In pursuing his specialty in total joint replacement, Dr. Miller served a fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He then spent a year as an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery at Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, before joining Oakland Orthopaedic Associates in 1981.
Dr. Miller is actively involved in teaching orthopaedic medicine in the community. Currently, he serves as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
He has been listed in Pittsburgh magazine's list of Top Doctors. "I believe we're in the most developmental decade in the history of orthopaedic medicine," says Dr. Miller. "We've seen a new wave of surgical break-throughs for younger patients including the reconstruction of knee ligaments and unprecedented advances in arthroscopy."
Dr. Miller is on the active surgical staffs of Allegheny Valley Hospital, UPMC Shadyside, Citizens General Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center and West Penn Hospital.
He and his wife, Barbara, also a physician, live with their two children in the East End of Pittsburgh.
