Matthew Fisher, MD

Dr. Fisher is a Lower Burrell native who joined Greater Pittsburgh Orthopaedic Associates in 2007 to specialize in Primary Care Sports Medicine. He became certified in this specialty after completing medical school at the University of Pittsburgh, Family Medicine residency at UPMC-St. Margaret Hospital, and then a Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship with UPMC-Sports Medicine.

During fellowship, Dr. Fisher worked closely with University of Pittsburgh football and basketball teams as well as many other Pitt athletic programs. He has also worked closely with several area high-school athletic teams.

Dr. Fisher sees patients of all ages for non-surgical management of injuries and musculoskeletal pain. This can include many fractures, sprains, tendonitis, stress fractures, and osteoarthritis. “I enjoy explaining patients’ injuries and treatment options. Patients feel more in control and motivated when they understand the process,” says Dr. Fisher.

He, his wife, and children reside in the Lower Burrell area.
