Jon Levy, MD
An Ivy Leaguer and entrepreneur, Dr. Levy earned a B.S. degree in Economics with a minor in Entrepreneurial Management from the prestigious Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
He came back to his hometown of Pittsburgh to study medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine Degree at the University of Pittsburgh and serving both his Internship and Residency there as well. He moved West to complete a Fellowship in spine surgery at the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in California and returned in 1994 to begin his private practice.
Dr. Levy treats a broad range of spinal disorders, "ranging from the adolescent gymnast with low back pain to the elderly patient with progressive difficulty in walking," he says. "Early diagnosis and treatment can often allow the athlete to return to his or her sport in a short time period. It's our objective to relieve patients of their pain and restore them to fully functional lifestyles."
The co-author of several research articles on orthopaedics, Dr. Levy has made presentations at Medical conferences in Pittsburgh and California, and is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
When he's not practicing medicine, Dr. Levy enjoys skiing, skating and golf. He and his wife, Dr. Tracy Prizant, currently reside in the city of Pittsburgh with their three children.
